Why Stay At Redhill Holidays for The Cheltenham Festival?

Cheltenham Festival is the pinnacle event of the jump racing calendar. This four day event showcases four high profile, championship races at Cheltenham Racecourse in Gloucestershire, England. The event has a rich history dating back to the 19th century with the first race taking place in 1815 when the first recorded flat racing meeting was held on Nottingham Hill.

2025 Racing Schedule:

This year’s festival takes place from the 11th-14th of March 2025 with 28 races to enjoy. The festival’s opening day is “Champion Day”, the highlight of which is the prestigious Champion Hurdle, a Grade 1 race over 2 miles, featuring the most skilled hurdlers in the world. Feel the drama unfold as horses surge towards the finish line, with every stride steeped in tradition and adrenaline.

The second day is “Style Wednesday” an event that combines the thrill of racing with the style and sophistication of the crowd’s attire. It is a day of dressing in your Sunday’s finest clothing, sipping champagne and joining high society for the day. As an additional reward for dressing your best you may be named “Best Dressed Lady’, ‘Best Dressed Man’, and even ‘Best Hat’, in the style awards. On “Style Wednesday” it is the Queen Mother Champion Chase, a Grade 1 steeplechase over 1 mile 7 furlongs.

The third day is “St Patrick’s Thursday” which combines celebrity Irish culture with racing glory.  At the centre of it all is the Ryanair Chase and the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle, two of the festival’s most anticipated events, where unforgettable performances and moments of glory are etched into Cheltenham history.

The fourth and final day is “Gold Cup Day”, one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the national hunt calendar with the winner receiving , you guessed it , the Gold Cup! . |Gold Cup day has  seven  great races which like the rest of the festival  feature some of the finest bred horses in Britain and Ireland at the peak of their ability.
